Robin BakerPresident Robin Baker

Robin Baker took office as George Fox's 12th president in July of 2007 after serving as the university's provost for eight years. Prior to George Fox, he worked at Grand Canyon University in various capacities (1994-98) and as an assistant professor of history at John Brown University (1992-94) and Wheaton College (1989 to 1992).

Baker completed a doctorate in history with honors at Texas A&M University in 1989 and earned a master's degree in history from Hardin-Simmons University in 1982. His research has focused on the American Civil War and Reconstruction, 19th-century American political/quantitative history, and the history of the southern United States. In addition to his roles as provost and president, he has taught history classes at George Fox.

Baker married his wife, Ruth, in 1980 while a student at Grand Canyon University. They have three children: Jacob, Rebekah and Tara.
