Director of Gift Development
“For such a time as this…” Nothing is more exciting than knowing you are just where God wants you to be. I have been blessed with a myriad of experiences in the business world for more than 25 years. I have served on boards for Young Life, Stronger Families for Oregon, the Salem Leadership Foundation, and Reid Saunders Evangelical Association. I fell in love with Christian education five years ago and, as the executive director of operations, I helped Salem Academy Christian School design and build a new state-of-the-art elementary building and raise the funds to install a new turf football field.
I am an admirer of Bill Hybels, and his book Holy Discontent has resonated with me. I had a burning desire to tackle big challenges, to invest myself in a bold way to impact our world. When I heard George Fox President Robin Baker speak at a family weekend two years ago, a seed was planted. George Fox was dreaming big. It was making a difference. Students were experiencing something very unique here and going out into the world equipped to make a major impact.
I love opportunities to articulate a vision in such a way that others can sense my passion, and, together, build a relationship of trust to tackle that vision together. People are hungry to support a vision that is about making a lasting – even an eternal – difference in people and society. God has uniquely equipped me to show how George Fox is doing this in and through their graduates. I couldn’t be more excited to help advance this mission.
My wife Jennifer and I have three children and currently live in Salem. Josh is a sophomore biology student here, Justin is a senior in high school, and Jessica is an eighth-grader. Our family is honored that God has called us to be part of the growing George Fox family. To be at a place able to dream big, to impact the Kingdom in a meaningful way, to change the Northwest. Wow, what an opportunity … ”For such a time as this…”
