"Tell me your story …" is the invitation I often extend to George Fox students and alumni. I love to hear from each one about why they chose to come to George Fox and what they've experienced since they've been here. In my job as director of foundation relations, I get to share their stories in grant applications and correspondence with donors (individuals and foundations) who give financially to support George Fox students, programs or facilities.
It's exciting to see how students are prepared spiritually, academically and personally in such a wide range of vocations as educators, engineers, nurses, entrepreneurs, cinematographers, artists, musicians, scientists, social workers, and so on. In this caring community students have the opportunity to truly be known and transformed, ready to go out equipped to serve, lead and make him known in a world that is hungry for hope!
I am so blessed to be able to apply 15 years of grant-writing experience in the public sector – and several years of free-lance grant writing for nonprofits – to my current role at George Fox.
