Charitable bequests (will or living trust)

Establishing a legacy through your estate plan is a testimony for generations to come of your faithfulness to the Lord. Estate planning is one of the most important acts of stewardship one will ever undertake. You can designate in your will or living trust that your assets are to be used for the benefit and support of George Fox University.

Your bequest in support of George Fox University may be

  • – for a specific dollar amount
  • – a percentage of the total estate
  • – the residual amount remaining after all expenses and other bequests have been paid
Suggested language for making a bequest for George Fox.

The Estate Planning Kit provides an easy way to gather the information you will need to provide your attorney. Bequests can take various forms so it is important to consult with your attorney to determine whether your charitable bequest can be made by drafting a codicil to your existing will or if a new will is needed.

Including GFU in your will or living trust qualifies you for membership in the Henry Mills Society. If you have included GFU in your estate plan, please complete the Notice of Bequest Form. This will enable us to effectively plan for your future gift and recognize you appropriately. (This form requires Adobe Acrobat Reader - download).

It is often helpful to contact the GFU Office of Estate and Planned Giving early in the estate planning process. Our staff may be able to provide counsel for you and those advising you with your estate plans.
