Construction Update: Staircases Installed in Duke Athletic Center

Here is the latest on construction of the Duke Athletic Center and Stoffer Family Stadium: Drains arrived, so crews were able to pour the shower room floor, and the two staircases in the Duke Athletic Center are installed. Also, the lower roof is weatherproofed and work continues on the upper roof from the inside out - installing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical duct work.

The front entry off of Fulton is being cut and graded, prepped for the new driveway entrance to be poured. Once the grandstand is completed crews will complete the remainder of the site work. The stadium press boxes have not arrived yet and are running a little behind due to inspections.

A Personal Thanks to Coaches for Countless Hours They Put In

I know we showcased the helmet "reveal" in a video a couple weeks back, but I thought you'd appreciate a nice studio shot of our HGI-produced helmet. This is the first rendition of it ...

With the stadium quickly taking shape and exciting things happening like team practices, helmet fittings and "equipment reveals," I'm reminded that we are fast approaching opening kickoff next fall! I'm also reminded that an awful lot of work goes into preparing for launching such a program. In particular, I want to thank coach Chris Casey and his staff for all the countless hours they're putting in. Just because we haven't had games yet doesn't mean they aren't burning the midnight oil.

For those who are still debating about whether or not to lend your financial support to the Stoffer Family Stadium project, let me encourage you to do so. Every little bit helps, and we're now just a little over a couple months out from our funding target deadline!
