Message from the Dean of Transition and Inclusion
The Office of Transitions and Inclusion exists to assist all students in becoming successful regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, physical ability, and socioeconomic status. We are a resource for students, faculty and staff who want to develop an understanding and appreciation of the diversity that exists in the body of Christ.
How do we accomplish this? Through faculty development and campus-wide student mentoring programs that include new student orientation, first-year experience, sophomore-year experience, the Act Six urban leadership scholarship, multicultural student services, and international student services. We are on a journey, so we will hit bumps along the road, but I believe we have been called to live out the prayer of Matthew 6:10: “on earth as it is in heaven.” This is why I accepted the position of dean of transitions and inclusion at this university — because I am excited about how God might use us as we help students transition to life at George Fox.
