Initial Teaching License in Library Media
The Initial Teaching License in Library Media is one of three paths George Fox offers for you to become a school librarian. This program prepares students to teach exclusively in a K-12 library setting. If you would like to teach in a classroom setting, George Fox offers several other programs to help you become a teacher. (A Master of Arts in Teaching degree plus the Library Media Endorsement is suggested for those wanting a more versatile license that would allow you to be either a library media specialist or a classroom teacher).
George Fox University's Library Media courses are a blend of short, intensive class meetings, engaging online classes, and on-site practica. Our summer classes meet at our Newberg campus (affordable housing is available for long-distance students); spring and fall classes are taught mostly online with two Saturday classroom seminars.
