Master of Arts in Teaching Newberg Program

George Fox University offers a full-time master of arts in teaching (MAT) program at its main campus in Newberg, Oregon.

The format:

MAT Full Time

  • Four semesters (12 months)
  • Classes meet weekdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.* 
  • MAT Plus ESOL and Reading degree candidates take first class the semester prior to regular start date (Special Ed Plus students start in June)
  • Mid-June start
  • Application deadlines: Feb. 1 for regular and MAT Plus Special Ed; Oct. 1 for MAT Plus ESOL and Reading

*Students earning the secondary authorization will take one weekly night class at our Portland Center during fall semester.
