Escaping the Devil's Bedroom, by Dawn Herzog JewellDawn Herzog Jewell, author of the book Escaping the Devil’s Bedroom: Sex Trafficking, Global Prostitution, and the Gospel’s Transforming Power, will speak and host a book-signing event at George Fox University Monday, Feb. 16.

Herzog Jewell, a 1994 George Fox graduate and a freelance journalist based in Chicago, will speak in chapel from 10:40 to 11:30 a.m. in Bauman Auditorium. Following her presentation, she will sign copies of her book from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the university’s bookstore.

Herzog Jewell’s chapel talk will weave the stories of individual victims of sexual exploitation with an examination of the realities that got them there in North America and overseas. She also will highlight ministries that are reaching one life at a time through prayerful visits to strip-clubs, bars and seedy streets.

Ultimately, she will share stories of the gospel’s transforming power in women, children and men who have been freed from the chains of exploitation and found new life in Christ.

Herzog Jewell is publications manager for Media Associates International (littworld.org), a ministry that equips publishers to publish Christian literature in the local language of people all over the world. In addition to her George Fox bachelor’s degree in sociology, international studies and Spanish, she earned a master’s degree in missions and intercultural studies from Wheaton College Graduate School in 2005.

The public is invited to attend her presentation and book-signing free of charge.
