Powers' work featured on OPB
Four years ago, his research was featured in an issue of Nature magazine. Today, biology professor Don Powers is getting exposure on television.
Powers' research with collaborator Bret Tobalkse on the flight bio-mechanics and energetics of hummingbird flight is profiled in an episode of "Oregon Field Guide." The segment, entitled "Hummingbirds aren't just fun to watch, scientists are discovering they still have a lot to learn from them," aired Thursday, Feb. 26, and again Sunday, March 1, on Oregon Public Broadcasting.
