Bruins Advance to National Tournament

Update: Wednesday's playoff game rained out; game rescheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m.

George Fox (33-9) earned the Northwest Conference's automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Baseball National Championship Tournament on May 9 with a convincing 24-6 victory over Pacific Lutheran.

The victory broke a deadlock for the conference title and sent the Bruins to the national tournament, where they will face Cal Lutheran at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in the first round of the West Regional at Linfield College in McMinnville. The Bruins are the No. 4 seed in the regional while the Kingsmen (31-9) are the No. 3 seed. The regional champion will advance to the eight-team NCAA Division III World Series, which is set for Friday through Tuesday, May 22-26, at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis.
