2009 Annual Christmas Concert

George Fox University’s annual Christmas concert ushered in the season with two sold-out concerts in Bauman Auditorium and a Village Baptist Church performance in Beaverton that drew 500. Students performed traditional Christmas carols, new arrangements of Christmas songs, narration and Scripture reading.

The Department of Performing Arts has prepared for this program since September. Loren Wenz, department chair and director of the Concert Choir, says it is “one of the most important performances we give all year — a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the spirit of Christmas through word and music.”
Participating was the university’s Concert Choir, Women’s Chorale, Handbell Ringers, Symphonic Band, Strings, Chamber Singers, Brass Quintet, Early Music Ensemble, Flute Ensemble and Clarinet Ensemble. The presentation was led by instrumental director Pat Vandehey and choral director Wenz.
