The George Fox women's golf team is back in Florida to compete in a second straight NCAA Division III National Tournament May 10-13.

The Bruins earned the spot by winning the 2010-11 Northwest Conference Championship Tournament, and leading the way was Brianna Nap, named the NWC Women’s Golf Player of the Year.

Nap earned medalist honors with a five-over-par 76-73=149 at Columbia Point Golf Course in Richland, Wash., on April 22-23. It was the third tournament win of the season for the senior from Deer Park, Wash., who was a First Team All-NWC, First Team All-West Region, and Second Team All-American last year.

Led by Nap, the Bruins captured the NWC title with a score of 303-316=619. It was the first outright conference championship for George Fox, and with it came an automatic bid to nationals. Last year, the Bruins shared the NWC title and earned an at-large berth at nationals.

In addition to Nap’s honors, the Bruins’ Kelsey Morrison and Jill Westendorf joined her on the All-Conference Team. Morrison tied for second in the NWC Tournament with a 74-81=155, and Westendorf was fourth with a 74-82=156. George Fox coach MaryJo McCloskey, who has been with the program for all five of its intercollegiate seasons, was named the NWC Coach of the Year for the first time.
