All international students must subscribe to the GFU Student Health Insurance Plan and will be billed for it. Estimated cost of this plan is $2,200 for 12 months of coverage. In addition, plan to have a minimum of $300 available in case you need to see a doctor or dentist. This will help pay for medical expenses that the Student Health Insurance Plan does not pay for.
Medical care is expensive in the U.S. Visits to a doctor's office cost at least $150, and hospital visits are at least $500. The cost of medical services and supplies is added to this amount.
The coverage of the Student Health Insurance Plan may vary from year to year. A copy of this year's plan summary is available on the GFU Student Health Insurance Plan web page.
The Student Health Insurance Plan does not pay for eyeglasses, dental care, or for any physical problems that started before you enroll in the plan.
George Fox University is not responsible for your medical and dental bills. You must be prepared to pay for any care needed. Most doctors expect you to pay at the time you see them for care. Check with Health and Counseling Services for help with any illness or injury before you see a doctor.
