Portland Libraries

  • Northwest Central (Portland Area Library System)
    George Fox is a member of the PORTALS (Portland Area Library System) consortium, a group of 17 member institutions. George Fox University students and faculty have reciprocal borrowing privileges at all member libraries, except Multnomah County Library and the Oregon Historical Library. You must present a valid George Fox University ID card to borrow library materials from these libraries.
  • Multnomah County Library
    Mutnomah County Library is Oregon's largest public library and has a collection of 1.6 milion books and other materials in the collection. The library has a strong business reference and circulating collection. Residents of Multnomah County, Washington, or Clackamas Counties may obtain a library card at the Central branch or any of the other 14 branches. While MCL is a PORTALS member, direct checkout is not possible through your GFU card.
  • Portland State University
    Portland State University Library, both a PORTALS and Summit library, has over 1 million volumes in its collection. It has a strong business collection. Students at George Fox may borrow library books from the Portland State University Library by showing a valid George Fox University ID.
  • Orbis-Cascade (Summit) Libraries
    George Fox also belongs to the Orbis-Cascade Library Consortium, a group of 37 libraries in Oregon and Washington with an online union catalog. Reed College, Lewis & Clark, University of Portland, and Linfield College are Orbis-Cascade members. You can go to any of these libraries to check out books directly. You can also register as a library user and request Summit books be sent to that location for you to pick up. You must present a valid George Fox University ID.

Salem Libraries

  • Chemeketa Community College Library
    Chemeketa Community College Library is part of the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service, along with 17 public libraries in the college district. The library is open without charge to anyone. Materials may be checked out by presenting a valid George Fox University student ID card or a valid public library card from a library in the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service.
  • Salem Public Library
    Salem Public Library is also a part of the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service. If you live in Salem, you may obtain a library card free of charge. Salem Public Library has a strong business reference collection.
  • Willamette University
    Willamette University, along with GFU, is a member of the Orbis Library Consortium. George Fox students may check out on-site from the Willamette library. In addiftion, if you register as a Willamette patron, you may ask that your Orbis book requests be sent to the Willamette University Library. Do not submit other interlibrary loan requests for article delivery to Willamette. Send your requests to the George Fox Library using the interlibrary loan request form available through the library home page.

Eugene & Corvallis Area Libraries

  • Eugene Public Library
    The Eugene Public Library's main library and bookmobile serve the residents of Eugene. Library cards are available without charge to patrons who live or own property within the Eugene city limits.
  • University of Oregon
    The University of Oregon libraries house the largest collection of research materials in Oregon with over 2.3 million volumes. The University of Oregon is also a member of Orbis. George Fox students may check out materials from the University of Oregon libraries by presenting a valid George Fox student ID card. In addition, if you register as a U. of O. patron, you may ask that your Orbis book requests be sent to the U. of O. library. Do not submit other interlibrary loan requests to the U. of O.; send your requests to the George Fox Library using the interlibrary loan request form available through the library home page.
  • Lane Community College Library
    Lane Community College Library is the second-largest community college library in Oregon, serving the educational and vocational needs of an expanding and diverse student population. George Fox University students do not have reciprocal borrowing privileges at Lane Community College, but you may inquire about a library card for community patrons.
  • Oregon State University Library, Corvallis
    Students living near Corvallis may want to use the Valley Library at Oregon State University. OSU has a library collection of over 1.7 million volumes. You must present a valid George Fox University ID to borrow materials. In addition, if you register as an OSU patron, you may ask that your Orbis book requests be sent to the OSU library. Do not submit other interlibrary loan requests to OSU.; send your requests to the George Fox Library using the interlibrary loan request form available through the library home page.

Redmond Libraries

  • COCC-OSU Library
    Central Oregon Community College and OSU-Cascades have a shared library on the Bend campus of COCC. Because COCC, OSU, and George Fox University are members of the Orbis Cascade Alliance, George Fox students may use the COCC-OSU Library to borrow library materials directly or to request Summit materials be sent to COCC-Bend library for pickup. You must identify yourself at the library with your George Fox University student ID card.
  • Deschutes Public Library
    The resources of the Deschutes Public Library are available to all residents of Deschutes County. Residents can use the online databases by entering the 14-digit barcode from your Deschutes Public Library card to access these databases.
