Student Union Building
Heacock Commons

  • Student Union Building (the SUB) built in 1958 and enlarged in 1968 and 1979
  • Heacock Commons built in 1964-65, enlarged in 1979, and renovated and expanded in 1994
  • The hub of student activity on campus
  • Houses student government offices, the University Store, some student mailboxes, the Esther Klages Dining Hall, the Cap and Gown Rooms, the Executive Dining Room, and facilities for the yearbook, newspaper, and campus radio station
  • Home to the Bruin Den and Foxhole (the latter remodeled in 2006) - two great places to grab a cup of coffee and hang out or study with friends

Fun Facts:

  • The dining hall is nicknamed "The Bone," after "The Bon Appétit," which runs it
  • The fountain is a student-funded project and was modeled after the Central Oregon landscape. It has been the target of numerous pranks, including laundry soap, jello, and goldfish - fortunately not at the same time
