South Pacific ProgramProgram Overview
Through the Creation Care Study Program, students have the opportunity to delve into the valuable ecosystems and geography of New Zealand. While exploring coral reefs, lava beds, forests and mountain peeks, students will learn about sustainable development, creation care and critical issues of social change. Students will also become integrated with the culture by living on CCSP's campus and also via a dedicated educational immersion experience in a Maori and Polynesian community in New Zealand.
Three core classes are offered; New Zealand Ecosystems, God and Nature, and Introduction to Sustainable Community Development. Classroom experience is enriched with field trips. Courses are designed to give knowledge of ecosystems and promote awareness of environmental issues, globalization, and the political economy all encompassed in biblical stewardship.
The student will fill out two applications:
- George Fox off-campus application form (obtained from the Center for Global Studies; or downloaded here).
- Creation Care Study Program application (to be completed online here). An application fee must accompany your application.
*The CCSP application should only be completed after being informed from the Director of Global Studies that you are accepted for an off-campus study semester.
Students must be full-time undergraduates with junior or senior status, holding a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply.
Recommended credit ranges from 14 to 16 credit hours.
