Veritas in Buenos Aires

Program Overview
This program is offered in colloboration with Veritas Christian Study Abroad at the Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Buenos Aires is the largest city in Argentina and is one of the most lively cities in the world. It has rightfully been called "the Paris of the South America" as it is reminiscent of many European cities while it still maintains its natural, latin culture and flair.

Students are required to take a Religion and Culture course and an International Missions/Service-learning practicum taught by local Veritas staff, and one Spanish language course. The remainder of the courses will be taken at Universidad de Belgrano.  For a sample list of courses go to courses.  Scroll to the bottom to see a partial list of courses taught in English.

The student will fill out two applications:
• George Fox off-campus application
• Veritas Christian Study Abroad application* (An application fee must accompany your application)

* The Veritas Christian Study Abroad application should only be completed after being informed from the George Fox Director of Study Abroad that you are accepted for an off-campus study semester.

Students must be full-time undergraduates with junior or senior status, holding a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply. APPROVED FOR SPANISH MAJORS.  There is NO language requirement for non-Spanish Majors

Because students remain enrolled at George Fox University while participating with Veritas, academic credit is awarded by George Fox. Students will typically take 16 credit hours. Students will be required to attend two pre-departure meetings, complete an online course evaluation, and attend a re-entry meeting upon their return. Students must see the transfer credit specialist in the Registrars office BEFORE they begin their semester off-campus.

Students will live in homestays with Argentine families. Students will be provided with two meals per day, wifi internet, and laundry service once a week.  Students typically share a bedroom with another Veritas student, but have the option of paying an additional charge to secure a single room. All homestays have easy access to the university and city.

The student pays George Fox's standard tuition, room and board, (14 meal plan)  and student fees (an additional fee is required to attend some programs).  Participants continue to receive financial aid, including scholarships, since they are officially George Fox students.  Round trip airfare is additional.
