Veritas in Paris, France

The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France

Program Overview

This program is offered in collaboration with Veritas Christian Study Abroad at the Catholic University of Paris (The Catho) in Paris, France. Paris is a great city with its unique history and French traditions still very alive today. Known for housing buildings recognized around the world, pieces of art, and food, Paris is a city you will never forget.

Students are required to take a Religion and Culture course, an International Missions/Service-learning practicum taught by local Veritas staff and a beginning language course. The remainder of the courses will be taken at The Catho. See the Spring 2016 course list (scroll to the bottom for a partial list of courses taught in English).

The student will fill out two applications:

* The Veritas Christian Study Abroad application should only be completed after being informed from the Director of Study Abroad that you are accepted for an off-campus study semester.

Students must be full-time undergraduates with junior or senior status, holding a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply. There is NO language requirement.

Because students remain enrolled at George Fox University while participating with Veritas, academic credit is awarded by George Fox. Students will typically take 16 credit hours. Students will be required to attend two pre-departure meetings, complete an online course evaluation, and attend a re-entry meeting upon their return. Students must see the transfer credit specialist in the registrar's office BEFORE they begin their semester off-campus.

Student housing is either within walking distance or conveniently located to public transit routes relative to the universities.

The student pays George Fox's standard tuition, room and board, and student fees (an additional fee is required to attend some programs). Participants continue to receive financial aid, including scholarships, since they are officially George Fox students. Round trip airfare is additional.
