Oxford Summer Programme
In conjunction with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, George Fox students can participate in the Oxford Summer Programme. Students enrolled in the Summer Progrmme will have access to over 100 libraries, discussion classes, lectures and one on one tutorials. Students will participate in required field trips to places like Stonehenge, Bath and Coventry but will also have opportunities to travel in their free time and to participate in optional activities sponsored by the program.
Students select enroll in two Seminar and Tutorials which will include one-on-one with an Oxford professor/tutor. 6 credites will be earned for the summer session. Students will participate in the lecture series "The Christian tradition in the british Isles".
The student will fill out two applications:
• George Fox off-campus application
• Oxford Summer Programme application
*The Oxford Summer Programme application should only be completed after being informed from the Director of Study that you are accepted for an off-campus study semester.
Students must be full-time undergraduates with sophomore, junior, or senior status, holding a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher to apply.
Six hours of academic credit is awarded by the Oxford Summer Program through George Fox University. Students will be required to attend two pre-departure meetings, complete an online course evaluation, and attend a re-entry meeting upon their return. Students must see the transfer credit specialist in the Registrars office BEFORE they begin their summer off-campu program.
Students have the option to live at The Vines, a grand home on the crest of Headington Hill, a 35-minute walk into Oxford city center or a five-minute walk to the nearest bus stop, or at the Crick Road House, a 10-minute walk from the center of town (or five minutes to Wycliffe Hall).
The cost of the Oxford Summer Programme is $7000. This includes tuition, room and partial meals, and expenses for all required field trips. This amount plus a $300 adminstrative fee is paid to George Fox University who will pay the Oxford Summer Programme. Round trip airfare is additional.
