Veritas in Sevilla

Program Overview
This program is offered in colloboration with Veritas Christian Study Abroad at the Menéndez Pelayo International University in Sevilla, Spain. Sevilla (700,000), the largest city in southern Spain, and the fourth largest in the country, offers endless opportunities to learn about Spanish culture and history. Located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, this enchanting capital city of the region of Andalucía has become one of the most popular study abroad destinations for American students.

Courses
Students are required to take a Cross Cultural Leadership course and an International Missions/Service-learning practicum taught by local Veritas staff.  The remainder of the courses will be taken at Menéndez Pelayo International University.  

Excursions
Veritas in Sevilla includes several excursions including trips to Madrid, Cordoba, Granda, Lisbon, Portugal and Morocco (optional).

Application
The student will fill out two applications:
• George Fox off-campus application form
• Veritas Christian Study Abroad application* (An application fee must accompany your application
* The Veritas Christian Study Abroad application should only be completed after being informed from the George Fox Director of Study Abroad that you are accepted for an off-campus study semester.

Eligibility
Students must be full-time undergraduates with junior or senior status, holding a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply. There is NO language requirement.

Credits
Because students remain enrolled at George Fox University while participating with Veritas, academic credit is awarded by George Fox. Students will typically take 16 credit hours. Students will be required to attend two pre-departure meetings, complete an online course evaluation, and attend a re-entry meeting upon their return. Students must see the transfer credit specialist in the Registrars office BEFORE they begin their semester off-campus.

Housing
Students will live in homestays with Spanish families. Students will be provided with three meals per day (except on Veritas excursion days) and laundry service once per week for the official duration of the program. This is included in the Veritas program cost. Students usually share a bedroom with another Veritas student, but have the option of paying extra to secure an individual room.

Costs
The student pays George Fox's standard tuition, room and board, and student fees. George Fox then pays Veritas.  Participants continue to receive financial aid, including scholarships, since they are officially George Fox students.  Round trip airfare is additional.
