The study tour to Spain, France and England will focus on the development of science in western Europe. We will visit several science museums on our trip including the Granada Science Museum, the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris, and the London Museum of Natural History.
We will start our study tour in Seville, Spain where we will visit the Plaza do España, the Cathedral of Seville, and the Alcázar of Seville. Students that are interested will be able to attend a bull fight. We will then travel to Cordoba where we will visit the Cathedral of Cordoba and the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos. We then visit Granada where we will visit one of the science museums on our trip as well as touring the Alhambra a breathtaking palace/fortress. Next, we will travel to the small town of Ronda where we will relax and enjoy the view from the three famous bridges the town is known for.
From here we will travel to Paris, France. We will see the city from a boat tour of the Seine River to start our time in Paris. We will spend four full days in Paris and will see sights such as the Eiffel Tower, the Tomb of Napoleon, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Palace of Versailles. We will then travel north to Normandy beach where we will tour Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery.
We will then take a ferry over the English Channel so that we will have a view of the White Cliffs of Dover as we enter England. While in Dover we will tour Dover castle and hike along the top of the White Cliffs where on a clear day we will have views of France across the Channel. From Dover we will travel into London where we will see sites such as Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, London Bridge and the London Museum of Natural History.
