25.1 CALL TO ORDER 5:04 PM

NEW BUSINESS

25.4 Community Life Fund: Proposal: Ja. Vanier

Proposal: $250 for football players to get dinner at Applebees

Discussion:

-       Outcomes

  • There’s a lot of money for non-reslife still

-       Decisions

  • Meets all the guidelines of creating community
  • Sets a group of people bonding together
  • What sets this apart from people having dinner for fun?
  • They’re doing a bible study with dinner

-       Actions

  • Contingent on $10/person

8.5 Community Life Fund: Proposal: Ja. Vanier

Proposal: $460 for 56 people to play laser tag on a roomies event

Discussion:

-       Outcomes

  • Reviewed from last week

-       Decisions

  • 56 people probably won’t go
  • Doesn’t conflict with Sadie Hawkins
  • Fun event for roomies

-       Actions

  • Event affects a lot of people; that’s why the total cost is so much

8.6 Community Life Fund: Proposal: Ja. Vanier

Proposal:  $240.71 for PCWB Silent Night

Discussion:

            -Outcomes

  • They have been very understanding
  • Proposal has been set in multiple times

            -Decisions

  • Communication between ASC and ResLife has been fuzzy with this proposal
    • That has made things frustrated
    • Many other people on campus have talked about how poorly planned this PCWB event was
      • Repercussions from having loss in budget from the pool event
      • They only spent ~$5.30 per person
      • The purpose of the CLF isn’t to buy presents
        • Providing an experience with community, not presents
        • We have denoted ResLife part of the CLF, and they can decide how they want to use it

            -Actions

  • Silent Night needs to be planned much farther ahead

8.7 Community Life Fund: Proposal: Ja. Vanier

Proposal: $350 for an educational viewing of a film supporting Shalom

Discussion:

            -Outcomes

  • QV and IJM are both really good things on campus

            -Decisions

  • This doesn’t seem like a CLF type proposal
    • Shalom budget?
    • It will build community, in a different kind of way

            -Actions

  • Shalom’s attendance has been down; it needs to be advertised more

8.9 Community Life Fund: Proposal: Ja. Vanier

Proposal: $700 for end of the year RA BBQ

Discussion:

            -Outcomes

  • Paid by ASC in the past, except for last year

-Decisions

  • Why isn’t it expanded to all student leaders?
    • End of the year worship
    • They are planning far ahead
    • They are taking a chunk out of their ResLife fund
      • Still a large amount of money to be taking out of that fund
      • Would ASC be willing to fund this outside of CLF?
        • No it needs to be out of CLF
        • RA are still students

-Actions

  • Good event that will treat RA’s well

Proposal: Chess set and Go set at International Center

Discussion:

            -Decisions

  • This money can come out of the fund to support reps

            -Actions

  • L. Liu can communicate with Ja. Vanier to get funding
