19.1 CALL TO ORDER 4:37PM

NEW BUSINESS

19.4 Clubs: New Club: M. Nakashimada

Proposal: New club for students coming from missionary kids

Discussion:

-       Outcomes

  • They have an entire constitution and all documents are clear

-       Decisions

  • Great write up; constitution will change next year as for any club
  • They will need funding from New Club Budget

-       Actions

  • Funding will come from New Club Budget

19.5 Clubs: Club Manuel: M. Nakashimada

Proposal: Approve the Club Manuel

Discussion:

-       Outcomes

  • Annual approval of Club Manuel is required

-       Decisions

  • This document is very long and needs to be read through

-       Actions

  • Table until we can review more in depth

19.6 Academic Pursuit Fund: Proposal: M. Nakashimada

Proposal: $65 for a Turbo Kit to help some engineers rebuild a turbo

Discussion:

            -Outcomes

  • Fox doesn’t offer any engineering experience like this
  • Their project is just sitting in Pennington parking lot; a turbo was donated, they need a kit to fix it

            -Decisions

  • Real life experience for a project someone can do where they learn

            -Actions

  • More proposals like this should be sent in

19.7 Academic Pursuit Fund: Proposal: M. Nakashimada

Proposal: $600 SCORR Conference for 3 students to go to Biola University

Discussion:

            -Outcomes

  • Only paying part of fee
  • SPIL, Family, and friends are paying for other parts of cost
  • Also fundraising at Burgerville

            -Decisions

  • Concern is them renting a car in Southern California
  • Proposal is well written

            -Actions

  • Awesome even more ASC members should go to

19.8: Donation Request: Ju. Vanier

Proposal: $200 to buy sandwiches to distribute to homeless people in Portland

Discussion:

            -Outcomes

  • They raised the entire money themselves
  • Sandwiches are delicious
  • Talked about raising money for status in class; it’s not about the money you raised

-Decisions

  • Don’t know where this money would come from
  • We should set up the Social Responsibility Fund again

-Actions

  • Set up and reset the Social Responsibility Fund

 19.9: SPIL: Stipend change: Ju. Vanier

Proposal: Adjustments for stipends in Outreach Ministries

Discussion:

            -Outcomes

  • Pay cuts were made after the split of Outreach & Campus Ministries with Central Committee
  • We have met extensively with T. Snyder
  • Stipends in SPIL are less

            -Decisions

  • Stipends cannot change this semester
  • SPIL team was not informed about their stipend cuts in a timely matter and that is not ASC’s fault
  • Campus Ministries doesn’t have any problem with their stipends
  • Volunteer Contracts are key
  • Same problem with Bruin Grounds

            -Actions

  • We need to see volunteer requirements before we approve anything
  • The hours are iffy especially for main coordinators
  • We need to see proof of hours worked, designated office hours
  • Way too much emotion involved, needs to be tabled for further conversation
