Proposal: $135 for Amnesty International Spring 2015 budget

Discussion:

  • One of their events falls on the same day as elections
    • They planned it for a long time

  • Student Organizations director is working on stipulations and processes for creating budgets

Proposal: $277 for Psychology Club Spring semester budget

Proposal: $1810 for Hawaii Club spring semester budget

Discussion:

-       Outcomes

-       Decisions

  • They’re paying for food that is coming with parents from Hawaii
    • Are they paying to have it shipped too?
  • Do they have funding for this already?
    • No, with an advisor leaving, they had a rough semester last semester so they’re trying to go all out

-       Actions

  • Amend to $1310 to take out the authentic Hawaiian food

Proposal: AIESEC to become a new Student Organization

Discussion:

-       Outcomes

  • Club that provides leadership opportunities for people oversea
  • Sounds like it offers a lot of programs that ASC SPIL Peer Advising already offer
  • Associated with national organization

-       Decisions

  • Student Organizations director should meet with S. St. Cyr to see what Student Life thinks about this
  • Feel like there’s too many red flags, maybe they should partner with Juniors Abroad?

Proposal: $288 per student to go to a AIESEC conference in San Jose, CA for two days

Discussion:

-       Outcomes

  • If AIESEC club gets declined at GFU, students will still be able to go

-       Decisions

  • It doesn’t say how many people are going to the conference, don’t know the total amount we’d be passing
  • Would be good for them to learn more about

-       Actions

  • Table it until we figure out how many students are going on the trip
  • Not ASC’s fault that

Proposal: $1061 for one student to attend a Biology conference in Florida

Discussion:

-       Outcomes

  • Grant from NASA through D. Powers didn’t cover all of the costs, so she still must come up with $1061 for trip

-       Decisions

  • Shouldn’t come out of ANF, maybe out of student emergency fund
  • Students needs to get receipts for everything
  • Put stipulations like every other ANF proposal

  • Not sure if we should be praying for gifts, but let’s just contribute to this event, it will affect a lot of students
