The teacher placement file service at George Fox University has been phased out and discontinued over a 2 year period (July 1, 2002-July 1, 2004). The decision to discontinue this service was based on diminishing need by school district hiring officials and the desire by teacher graduates to manage their own information in the job search.
Placement files can no longer be updated or sent to school districts and all files will be purged on a pre-determined schedule. We will return non-confidential references by request, but by law, documents in confidential files may not be released by our office.
In lieu of a teacher placement file, Career Services recommends submitting an updated resume, cover letter and three letters of recommendation when applying for teaching positions. "Teacher Candidate" Document folders are available for sale in the Career Services Office located on the 3rd floor of the Stevens Center on the Newberg Campus. Each folder costs 50 cents, please call ahead for orders over 75 folders.
