POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

SECURITY OFFICER, Part-time
Security Services

OPENING DATE:                     April 11, 2008
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD:            14 Hours Per week; 12 months
START DATE:                         As soon as possible
SCHEDULED WORK HOURS:    Weekends: midnight to 7am



QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Previous security experience helpful.  Good physical condition, including the ability to traverse on foot and by bicycle all kinds of terrain, often in the dark; climb stairs; be on one’s feet up to 8 hours per shift; and be able to utilize the “use of force policy” if necessary.  High School diploma.  Qualified to become certified under DPSST, including no criminal record.  Good judgment and poise under pressure.  Available and willing to work evenings, nights, and weekends. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patrol campus. Secure buildings. Provide security services such as escorts, jump-starts, and vehicle unlocks. Investigate suspicious persons/events and report as appropriate. Communicate with director and other officers. Monitor video cameras when in office. Provide good public relations with students and staff. Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION:   Pay Range 3; Minimum starting pay: $11.39 -$13.39 per hour depending on experience.
