Part-time Computer Technician
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
PART-TIME COMPUTER TECHNICIAN
Tilikum Center for Retreats and Outdoor Ministries
OPENING DATE: November 6, 2009
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: Approx. 3 hours per week over the next 12 months
START DATE: As soon as possible
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position exists to set up and maintain Tilikum’s computer network within the university’s larger network and servers.
Specific essential responsibilities are as follows: Document hardware specifications and software licenses. Set up and monitor regular updates on all software programs. Set up and maintain workstation network configurations. Set up and maintain both file and web servers. Set up and monitor backup systems.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Computer training in institutional technology. Aptitude for and enjoyment of technical problem solving. Good physical condition, including ability to lift 25-50 pounds. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task with interruptions. High level of initiative, ability to work alone as well as in a team environment, flexibility and creativity. Good communication skills. Belief in the mission of Tilikum, understanding of its goals and programs, along with an evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the institution’s goals, including signed agreement with GFU Statement of Faith and Statement of Community Responsibilities. COMPENSATION: Pay Range: $12 - $15 per hour, depending on experience. Because this position is less than half time, there are no benefits.
