Group/Mass Email

Group/Mass Email

How do I e-mail a bunch of people at once?
Our e-mail system includes several options for sending e-mail to a large group of people. Each option has certain advantages and disadvantages. Take a few minutes to learn about each option, then decide which is best for your communication needs. As always, you are welcome to consult with the service desk if you have questions or concerns.

1) Send a regular message if it is a one-time mailer to specific (fewer than 75) people. Use the Global Address Book to look up names if needed.
2) Use a distribution list if you are sending to specific (fewer than 75) people and you will mail this group of people again (and again, and…). You can set up a distribution list in your Contacts folder.
3) Use a listserv if you want a two-way discussion and/or you want to reach more than 75 people. Listservs have to be set up and administered.

Keep in mind that sending unsolicited mail to multiple people can be considered spam.
