Employees Leaving The University

Employees have a separate process from students for transitioning out of George Fox University and will find it useful to be aware of the following information concerning their Google Apps account which includes email.

Answers

1. Can I keep my George Fox email account?

Generally no, however you may be able to retain your George Fox email account if you qualify for Staff/Administrator Emeritus status. Staff and Administrative employees consult the Employee handbook or the Human Resources department. Faculty consult the Academic Affairs office. top

2. Can I forward my George Fox emails?

As an employee, forwarding your George Fox email is not an approved business practice. In any event, if you start forwarding your emails just before you leave, it does not accomplish saving your emails because it only forwards new emails from that point forward. top

4. When will my email account be deleted?

This is determined by the Human Resources department. top

5. How can I transfer some of my emails and Google Docs to another employee?

Please call the Service Desk to transfer ownership of Google docs and emails. top

6. I will no longer be an employee but I am an alumnus?

All students have an email username that is assigned based on when they were first admitted to the University. When you become an alumnus, you retain that your student e-mail address to use in Alumni E-mail Forwarding.  If you were an alumus before you became an employee, as an employee, your username changes to one without any year attached.  Conversely, when you are no longer an employee, your username reverts back to the one you had as a student and the year is added back to your username.
