How do I find books?

Step 1: Search Foxtrax

Foxtrax, the George Fox Libraries' catalog, lists everything we own. You can search by title, author, or subject and discover:
  1. which of our libraries owns it
  2. shelf position (call number)
  3. status (on shelf or checked out)
  4. complete citation

For some books, our catalog will also display the table of contents. We arrange our books according to the Library of Congress Classification.

Our Subject Guides can help you identify books and other resources related to your topic.


Step 2: Search Summit and/or WorldCat

Through Summit, you have access to the holdings of most academic libraries in the northwest. You can also choose to search the combined Summit/World Catalog. Search either just like you search Foxtrax, and then request what you find. Summit materials arrive in 2-4 business days. You can check Summit books out for 6 weeks with no renewals. Books requested from outside the Summit system can take 10 days to 3 weeks to arrive.
