    A comprehensive reference covering the life histories of North American birds. BNA Online contains image and video galleries showing behaviors, habitat, nests, eggs and nestlings, and more. Each online species account contains recordings of that bird's songs and calls, selected from the extensive collection in Cornell's Macaulay Library of Natural Sounds. Trial access ends April 17, 2008.

  • Education Research Complete (includes Professional Development Collection)
    Covers all areas of education. Indexes more than 1500 journals, with more than 750 full text. From EBSCO.


  • ERIC
    A guide to published and unpublished sources on thousands of educational topics, from 1966 to the present. Includes journal articles, conference papers, theses, curricula, etc. Now contains full-text ERIC documents.

    A digest of world news with coverage going back 40 years. Articles are hyperlinked so the researcher can follow the thread forward and backward in time. This database includes biographies, historical documents, selected topical editorials from across the U.S., and background articles written specifically for the World News Digest.


  • Fuente Academica
    Nearly 200 full-text periodicals from the Spanish-speaking world. Thirteen are peer-reviewed. Includes Revista de Arquitectura, Estudios Sobre Educacion, Revista de Estudios Hispanicos, Comunicacion y Sociedad, Revista de Ciencia Politica, and Revista Historia.

    From the Buros Institute, contains the most recent descriptive information and critical reviews of new and revised tests. Coverage begins with the 9th edition. The database covers more than 2,000 commercially-available educational, personality, aptitude, neuropsychological, achievement and intelligence tests. Each entry includes test name and classification; author(s); publisher, publication date; price; time requirements; score descriptions; levels; and intended populations. Mental Measurements Yearbook is updated every six months to ensure timely access to new test information.

    Provides access to individual papers presented at conferences worldwide. Covers every congress, symposium, exposition, workshop and meeting added to the British Library Document Supply Centre's vast proceedings collection since October 1993.


  • Philosopher's Index
    A bibliographic database with informative author-written abstracts covering scholarly research in the 15 fields of philosophy, published in journals and books since 1940. 80 percent of the records are taken from journal articles.


  • Physical Education Index
    Includes abstracts that feature a wide variety of content, ranging from physical education curricula, to sports medicine, to dance.     A searchable collection containing real transcripts of therapy and counseling sessions and first-person narratives illuminating the experience of mental illness and its treatment, as well as reference works to contextualize the primary material. New material is added on a biweekly basis and, when complete, the database will contain more than 2,000 session transcripts, 40,000 pages of first-person accounts, and 25,000 pages of secondary reference material.
