Library privileges and information for alumni
George Fox University alumni are welcome to use the library and a library card is free of charge. With your card you can check out up to 10 books at a time and renewals are typically permitted up to two times unless a hold has been placed on the item. Standard check out periods, fines, and replacement charges apply.
Joining the library
If you still have your student ID card, bring it into the library and we will activate your barcode for library privileges. Or fill out a community patron application, available at the circulation desk, and we will issue you a library card.
Your library privileges include:
• Checking out books from GFU libraries
• Placing a book on hold (click on the “Request” button in Foxtrax)
• Access to library computers, printers, and scanners
• Use of our library catalog (FOXTRAX)
• Use of the library databases (on campus only)
Please be aware that your library privileges do not include:
• Off-campus access to the databases
• Summit borrowing or Interlibrary Loan
• Checking out videos, DVD’s, juvenile books, or reserve items
Computer use
The reference librarian will be happy to log you on with a guest account. Please note that public-access computers at our libraries exist to serve the students, faculty, and staff of George Fox University. These primary patrons have priority and any guest will use the computers on a space-available basis.
