Douglas Campbell is a professor of art at George Fox University. He has an M.F.A. in printmaking from Pratt Institute and a Ph.D. in comparative arts from Ohio University. His artwork has been included in over 150 invitational and juried exhibits throughout the country including: Mystical World of Fantasy, Visual Arts Gallery in Gresham, Oregon, and This Bountiful Place: Art About Agriculture: The Permanent Collection, Oregon Historical Society, Portland, Oregon. His artworks are in the collections of Oregon State University, The Tallahassee Democrat, George Fox University and the Portland Art Museum. He works primarily as a painter and printmaker.

Second Street Parking depicts a panoramic view of what we usually ignore. However, the parking area, the back sides of the office buildings and stores with the long afternoon shadows of trees are certainly as visually interesting as the front of the same offices and stores. I have based this work on several photographs pieced together and then painted in intense colors. I call this style photo expressionism.
