The academic year begins with the fall semester. All future semester dates may be subject to change.
Semester Start and End Dates
Fall, spring, and summer semesters are 16 weeks long. Fall semester begins on the last Monday in August, spring semester begins on the second Monday in January, and summer semester begins on the first Monday following the end of spring semester. Spring break begins on the week which includes the last Friday in March.
Traditional undergraduate May Term is the first three weeks of summer semester, and traditional undergraduate Summer Online session is eight weeks long, beginning the first Monday in June.

These calendars list important academic dates, including add/drop and withdrawal deadlines for courses running the full length of the semester.
Sessions within the Semester
Traditional undergraduate classes run the full length of the semester.
Degree completion and graduate programs may have classes that run the full length of the semester, as well as classes that run the length of a session within the semester, anywhere from two weeks to fifteen weeks long. Each session has unique add/drop and withdrawal deadlines and refund periods.
The Registrar's Office builds and maintains all of the sessions within the semester. All class content, including in-person meetings and online components, must fit within, and fill, the dates of a given session. Information about available sessions within a given semester is below on the Session Master List. Questions may be directed to the Enrollment Manager for your program. Requests by academic departments to add new sessions must be submitted via the Session Addition Request Form linked below.
