SPS General Education/Elective Courses
Getting Started
We suggest that you begin with a review of your current academic credits. This will help determine how close you are to meeting the entrance requirements and how soon you will be able to begin one of our degree-completion programs.
One of our admissions counselors would be glad to meet with you to arrange a time to meet for an evaluation. An official evaluation of your credits will take approximately two weeks to process, but an initial, unofficial evaluation can be completed during an initial appointment. This is a free service offered to you with no obligation.
Meeting Entrance RequirementsOnce you know how many credits you already have, our Enrollment Counselors can advise you on how to meet any remaining entrance requirements. Even if you are beginning with little or no college credit, many options are available, including credit by examination, courses at other colleges and universities, and General Education/Eelctive courses at the Boise, Portland, or Salem Centers. Advising is also a free service offered to you with no obligation.
General Education/Elective ClassesWe offer a variety of core credit classes, generally two- or three-credit courses that are offered in concentrated evening and weekend blocks and qualify to help fill your required entrance credits. The learning environment in these courses is structured for adult learners and is intended to mirror the environment one would experience in a degree-completion cohort. Tuition varies for each course and includes books. Working meals are provided with some courses at no extra charge.
