Bridging the Gap
“Bridging the Gap” between the cost to attend George Fox and financial aid is the responsibility of the student and family. Each semester the balance owed needs to be taken care of before the student can advance to the next semester. This can be done by first figuring out what the gap is. Students can do this by going online to the payment estimator. Once completed, the payment estimator will show the balance owed for each semester. Undergraduate Payment Estimator Fall/Spring 2013/14.
The following information contains some options students and their families can consider in assisting with the payment.
Parents can apply for the PLUS loan. The PLUS loan is taken out through the Direct Loan Program. Parents can apply for the PLUS loan by going online to www.studentloans.gov. Parents can go to this site for more information or they can contact their student's Financial Aid Counselor. George Fox will be notified when the loan has been approved.
Students can apply for an alternative loan. These are private loans through a variety of different banks and credit unions. In most cases students will need a cosigner. George Fox University will certify loans from any bank or credit union. Contact your Financial Aid Counselor for more information.
Payment is made each semester through personal payments, financial aid, or a combination of both. Semester payments are due prior to attendance.
Students can request a monthly payment plan for their situation by completing the payment estimator. Undergraduate Payment Estimator Fall/Spring 2013/14. All Monthly Payment Plans are subject to a $35 per semester installment set up fee.
