Community Services

Community Services includes a variety of different opportunities to serve Newberg and the surrounding community. James Project is a weekly service event that sends groups of students into the community to perform a wide variety tasks for people who are in need. Adopt-A-Grandparent partners with Friendsview to connect students with a resident for one hour each week.

Serve Trips

Serve trips provide a great way for students to get involved with short-term missions through weeklong ministry trips at the end of Christmas break and during spring break. Trips include inner-city missions, work projects, VBS, etc. Serve teams are challenged and stretched as they grow together as a team, and they always have a deep and meaningful impact on those they serve.

Urban Services

Urban Services meets every Friday evening to send students into Portland and Salem to meet and build relationships with members of the homeless population. Time is spent serving food, distributing clothes, praying, and hanging out.

Little Bruins

Little Bruins is a big brother/big sister program that matches students with a student of a local elementary or middle school. Students spend one hour each week with their little bruin as well as opportunities to attend various events with them. This is a great way to invest in the life of a child who needs extra support and encouragement.

Missions

New to the Christian Service Committee this year, the Missions Committee seeks to connect students interested in global missions with information on how to participate with different mission organizations. The missions coordinator exists to encourage an interest and passion for global mission.
