The Student Financial Services (SFS) staff applauds your decision to finish your degree. The SFS office is responsible for both the financial aid and student accounts functions at George Fox University. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the information below.

Major (cohort) Classes $412 per semester hour
General Ed/elective classes $330 per semester hour

Tuition and Fees for major courses $15,094-$15,328 (includes estimated yearly increases)
Life-learning/professional training credit tuition and fees $50-$990-$1,400 (if needed for elective hours)

* This cost includes all tuition and fees for major classes and the charge for the Personal and Professional Assessment course, which would then waive all portfolio fees. These would be typical charges for students who transfer in with at least 59 applicable hours. Students who transfer in fewer than 59 hours could take additional classes with George Fox University, which would increase their overall cost. These numbers include an estimated tuition increase of 3 percent each year. The change in tuition could be different than 3 percent.

Financial Aid

George Fox University is committed to helping you in your effort to meet college costs. Financial aid options are available to qualifying students.

How to Apply for Financial Aid
Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) either by paper or online. The FAFSA on the Web is available at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. Completion of this form determines your financial need and allows our office to award many forms of financial aid. George Fox University's title IV school code is 003194.

Our Student Financial Services staff will be happy to send you the FAFSA form (if you prefer not to apply online) and answer any questions you may have about it or other financial aid or student account issues.

Call 800-765-4369, extension 2290, or email us at sfs@georgefox.edu.

Grants
Grant awards are based on financial need, as determined by the FAFSA. Both traditional and adult undergraduate students at George Fox University are eligible to receive Pell, SEOG, and Oregon Opportunity Grant, assuming they meet other eligibility requirements. The amount awarded will depend on the number of hours you are registered for.

Subsidized Stafford Loan
This loan is based on financial need and year in school. Repayment and interest accrual begin six months after you cease attending at least 1/2 time (6 credit hours).

Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
You do not need to demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this program, but there are loan levels based on year in school. Repayment and interest rates are the same as the subsidized loan, but interest begins to accrue at the time of the first disbursement. You have the option to pay the interest while enrolled or have the interest capitalized. Capitalized interest is added to the principal, increasing the amount that interest will be charged for.

Maximizing Your Financial Aid Package
The best way to maximize your financial aid eligibility is by attending two semesters per year. Students who choose to enroll in our 20-month major and take the summers off get an added benefit of maximizing their financial aid award. Since we can split your award into two semesters instead of three, student loans should cover the entire cost of your tuition and fees at George Fox University.

Student Payment Options
Student account specialists will assist you in determining the appropriate plan and payment amount. They will work with you throughout your program. We have plans that accommodate employer or third-party involvement, payment on a semester basis and monthly payment plans. Some plans require a small fee, but the account balance is help interest and penalty free, as long as you meet the guidelines of the plan. Enrollment in a payment plan is part of the admission process, but your selection can be easily changed as needed.

Employer Tuition Reimbursement
Many businesses offer tuition reimbursement to their employees enrolled in college programs. Contact your human resources office on this employee benefit. If you have questions about how the employer tuition reimbursement option fits into your overall payment strategy at GFU, call us at 800-765-4369, ext. 2293.
