Graduate Students: Approximately three weeks prior to the beginning of the semester, graduate students may charge books to their student account and no voucher is required. There is, however, a cut off date, after which a book voucher is required.
Undergraduate Students: A book voucher is always required before an undergraduate student may charge books to their student account.
When is the cut-off date?
The cut-off date for both graduate and undergraduate students is the second Thursday after the published beginning date of the semester. (See Academic Calendar) Note: Some graduate courses have later start dates. In these circumstances a voucher may be requested and eligibility will be determined on an individual basis.
How do I request a voucher?
Vouchers may be requested from a Student Financial Services Specialist at either the Portland or Newberg Campus. Vouchers are issued to students who have overpaid their account or who will have a credit on account when pending secured financial aid is applied to the balance. In most cases, students will not be issued a voucher if they are paying monthly or are sponsored by an outside party.
How much can I get on a voucher?
Vouchers will be issued on a per semester basis for the amount overpaid, or expected to be overpaid, rounded down to the nearest $50. You may request a lesser amount. The charge applied to the student account will be limited to the amount actually charged at the bookstore. The bookstore will not issue change from a voucher.
How much will be charged to my student account?
The charge applied to the student account will be limited to the amount of the actual purchase at the bookstore. The bookstore will not issue change from a voucher.
What if I lose my voucher?
Lost vouchers may potentially get into the wrong hands and may subsequently be spent. Each voucher has an expiration date. If the voucher expires and has not been used, there will be no book charge applied to the account. However, if the voucher is used, the student to whom the voucher was issued will be liable for the amount charged.
What if my plans change and I don't need the books?
All of the normal bookstore return policies apply to purchases on a voucher except that the approved credit is sent back to the student account and applied against outstanding charges. When a credit results, the student can request a check be mailed.
