ADVANCE Leadership Development Program
The ADVANCE Leadership Development Program operates under the following key assumptions*:- Leadership is concerned with effecting positive change on behalf of others and society
- Leadership is collaborative
- Leadership is a process rather than a position
- Leadership should be values-based
- All students (not just those who hold formal leadership positions) are potential leaders
- Service is a powerful vehicle for developing students' leadership skills

The ADVANCE Leadership Development Program is made up of the following components, each of which is open to all George Fox University undergraduate students.
- Interactive Workshops - Taught by GFU faculty, staff, administrators and community members
- Experiential Experiences: Ropes Course
- Service Learning: Weekend serve projects within the surrounding community
- Capstone Project: An active "social change" project/initiative that will allow participants to put their leadership development learning into practice.
Interested students may obtain an ADVANCE Credential of Leadership Development by completing the following program requirements at anytime during their George Fox University experience.
- 8 ~ Workshops (12-15 will be offered each semester)
- 2 ~ Community Service Projects (at least 2 will be offered each semester)
- 1 ~ Ropes Course (1 ropes course offered each semester)
- 1 ~ Capstone Project (This is worked on outside of the regular program schedule)
