Multicultural Club

Mission Statement

The mission of the Multicultural Club is to assist students in becoming disciples of Christ through the celebration of God's diverse cultural kingdom.

The Multicultural Club is a student-led component of Multicultural Services that seeks to engage in culture through on- and off-campus activities and events.

Off-campus events include:

Visiting minority churches
Attending concerts
Exploring new restaurants
Learning cultural dances
Luaus, powwows, fiestas, etc.
Any other events students want to do
Films

On-campus events include:

Concerts
Connections
Films
Discussion groups
Lectures
Other student-led activities

Value Statement

The Multicultural Club provides an environment in which all students may learn about and share their views pertaining to culture and gender. Our goals include:

Gaining knowledge and wisdom
Supporting and helping individuals in their personal, pre-professional, spiritual and academic lives
Applying these lessons to everyday life and to our careers
Learning how God is involved within each of our cultures
Learning how we influence other cultures
To assist the students in their celebration, knowledge and understanding of cultural differences created by God

Importance

Diversity must be respected, so we are going to teach it.
Cultural knowledge is a part of the overall educational experience.
God created cultures; each is different and to be celebrated.
Students need this knowledge as they head into a more and more diverse world, not only for themselves, but also for their children, grandchildren, and for future generations.
