Mother/Daughter Retreat Speaker, DIANE SCHUKAR, UPWORD LOOK MINISTRIES
Diane SchukarLike many women, circumstances and hurtful messages clouded her understanding of who she is in Christ-a daughter of the King. When meeting Diane, you would never guess that this beautiful lady, full of joy and laughter, struggles with insecurity-beginning at childhood-and thus a journey began to allow God to show the significance, security and sense of belonging that she has and expresses through music and poetry. A gifted speaker and teacher, Diane has spoken at conferences and retreats here in the Northwest as well as in Senegal, West Africa. Her passion is to see women encouraged, strengthened in the Word and adorned in the beauty of holiness that becomes every child of God.

Diane and her husband live in Auburn, Washington. Her love of the Bible are only enhanced by her degree in Bible and Psychology as well as her past ministries working with youth, marriages and in women's ministry for many years. She and her husband have raised three marvelous young women - who are now women of God! The fruit of her life and ministry are evident in her broad sphere of influence. She leaves a legacy everywhere she has been---a legacy of people loving God more!

Diane will be joined by two of her daughters; Debbie, 23, and Cathy, 20.

Debbie, is currently living in Mesa, Arizona working for a photography company. She has been involved in Young Life since High School, attending, and then mentoring Middle school students, being a camp counselor, then finally she went as an intern for a year to Wild Horse Canyon Young Life camp in Oregon for a year. She also led worship in youth group at our church for 4 years. More recently, she has been leading in worship at her church in several age groups/ areas of ministry. Debbie is a quiet leader who has a strong spiritual walk and speaks effectively of her journey with Christ through her testimony and her singing.

Cathy, is attending community college toward getting a degree in business administration. She works at Coldstone Creamery part time. Cathy, too, has a desire to mentor young women in their walk with Christ. She has attended Young Life since high school. Since high school, she has been a leader in the middle school program, speaking and giving her testimony at their club meetings. She has won several trophies for academics, sports, beauty and community service, but has maintained a balance in her spiritual walk that makes her approachable by other young women.
