Parent Leadership Committee
The Parent Association is an advisory association to the university president and his/her administration and will work through the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations. The purpose of the Parent Association is to foster communication between the university and the parents of its students in order to improve the quality of the university experience for George Fox students and their parents. Further, the Parent Association will work to preserve and strengthen the broader mission of the university. The association will serve to represent and reflect the views of current parents and, conversely, assist in communicating with parents about the goals and plans of the university.
The IDEA Center Committee is a network of professional parents who assist the IDEA Center staff by developing programs to support existing programs and new directions. Its members provide career informational interviews and mentoring for students and give the IDEA Center a parent perspective on career-related issues.
The Parents Fund Committee raises awareness for financial needs of the university among parents, thereby helping to meet those needs, as well as providing parents with an opportunity for involvement. The Parents Fund Committee supports projects that directly benefit students.
The Spiritual Emphasis Committee works creatively to support the students' spiritual experience on campus.
The Outreach Committee works with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to support student recruiting efforts. A parent calling campaign, regional send-off parties, and participation on parent panels for admission events are the primary responsibilities for these committee members.
