Parent's Day of Prayer
March 12, 2005

Parents Pray! It is the one thing we have in common no matter how 'spiritual' or 'unspiritual' we might feel. From the time our children are born our requests on their behalf (& ours) are made in whispers, shouts & tears. From on our knees, through sleepless nights, in noisy bleachers but mostly on the run, we lift up present needs and future hopes of those we love. Now that our children are adults-the still need our prayers.

At GFU, Parent's Day of Prayer is a meaningful and refreshing time to come together with other parents to pray for the students, the campus and the staff of George Fox University. A highlight for me each year is walking the campus on a "prayer walk" with others as we pray for the campus. There will also be a time of worship and refreshments.

If you live too far to attend on campus, there are 14 regional sites where parents will be gathering to take a "virtual prayer walk" (via video) at a home of a GFU parent. You should be receiving a post card with information regarding sites in your area soon. I hope you will be able to make one of these as we make prayer a priority.

"The intense prayer of the righteous is very powerful"
James 5:16
