| Spring Serve 2006
Lapwai, Idaho
The small town of Lapwai, Idaho is located on the Nez Perce reservation in Northern Idaho. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the Nez Perce culture, the needs of small rural communities, and serve those who live in Lapwai. This trip offers the chance to see a need often overlooked.
Flying H Ranch
For this trip, men and women will go to a boy's ranch near Naches, WA to help with the facilities and to interact with the troubled boys living at the ranch. Students will have the opportunity to model healthy relationships as they relate to each other and the boys. This is an excellent opportunity for students who want to lead and mentor through service.
LA Hollywood Prayer Network
In LA, students will be visiting the Hollywood Prayer Network with Karen Covell, who was here last semester in chapel during Missions Week. Students will have the opportunity to set up and tear down sets at a Christian actor's theater, as well as, attending their performances. Another Christian actors group, Inter-Missions, will also have work for students to do.
LA Dream Center
Students who participate on this mission trip will experience and learn the hands-on ministry at the Dream Center in downtown Los Angeles. Students will have the opportunity to participate in the various programs and outreaches to become a vessel through which the Lord will reach the lost and brokenhearted.
Utah
Students will join Utah Partnership for Christ to reach out to the Mormons in Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas. This mission trip will participate in a wide variety of activities that will help students learn more about the culture and mindset of the followers of Joseph Smith. These activities include times at Temple Square, Brigham Young University, and a Morman church service. Students will be challenged to know what they really believe and how to convey that to others through relationships.
