Science Outreach Classes

George Fox University science department is offering science outreach classes to the community during the fall and spring semesters. Students who participate in the classes have the opportunity to learn about the wonders of God's creation in the university's state-of-the-art laboratories. The classes emphasize hands-on and mind-engaging activities relevant to the learner.

Director and Coordinator
|
|
|
|
Dwight Kimberly, professor of biology, is the director of the program, and Eva-Lynn Johnson serves as the coordinator. Both have a passion for and experience with science education. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Instructors
|
|
|
|
The instructors are experienced science and education majors who desire to teach others about the world of science. Two instructors collaboratively teach each course. |
|

Fees
|
|
|
|
The cost for the class is $60 unless otherwise noted on the class description. The class fee pays for the instructors, coordinator, and class supplies. Some classes may have an additional lab fee to cover the cost of activities such as dissections and field trips. |
|
Two scholarships are available per class. Because of the limited number of scholarships, a student can receive only one per academic year. It is the continuing goal and mission of this program and its coordinators, to provide the highest quality classes and laboratories to the community, at the lowest possible cost to those participating. |
