Threshold 2016 - Required for All Incoming Masters Students

Note to masters students who start in spring 2016: You are required to attend Threshold in August even though you will have already been attending classes.

Symposium

As a new student, Threshold is your first step into knowing and being known at George Fox Evangelical Seminary. This is your first opportunity to interact with faculty and your fellow new students; your first opportunity to tell your story and hear stories told. Threshold seeks to set the foundation of your seminary experience by fostering community and providing you with the tools and information necessary to successfully navigate through your time at George Fox Evangelical Seminary.

Attendance at Threshold is mandatory for all Local Learning Community (LLC) and Online Learning Community (OLC) students that are enrolled in Master’s-level programs. Students who have started classes the 2016 Spring semester are required to attend, as well.

Note: Doctor of Ministry (DMin) students have a separate orientation.

Preparation

Before arriving on campus, please complete the Digital Orientation on FoxTale. Digital orientation opens after August 1st. For those so inclined, also feel free to start connecting with your fellow students the GFES: Community Life Facebook Group and like the Seminary Facebook page!

Threshold Sessions:

Meet & Greet: Start off your Threshold experience with an informal meet & greet session hosted by your Community Life Coordinators, Kristin and Sherwood!

Faculty Presentations: This is your chance to get to know all the fantastic faculty members of George Fox Evangelical Seminary on a personal level beyond the classroom.

The Spiritual Journey: You’re embarking on a new journey of self-discovery and growth; we’ll spend a session preparing your for the personal growth that’s ahead.

PDX in PIX: Whether you’re a Portland native, or this is your first time in our fair city, this event will include something for everyone.  Discover new secrets in the city and capture stories of your teammates and some of Portland’s eclectic residents.

The Nitty-Gritty: You’ll get the rundown on  the Registrar, Financial Services, the library and many other great services and offices here to help you sort out the details of your seminary journey.

And so much more…
