Catalog Description

The process of research and writing in preparing the Doctor of Ministry project.

Course Objectives

As a result of this course students will:

  • Establish a concrete plan and schedule for writing the project, including accountability parameters
  • Make decisions about the audience and voice of the work
  • Experience editing of written work
  • Complete a final draft of the expanded abstract of the project

Methods

  1. In-class lectures on breaking the big project into manageable parts, tips for writing and tips for editing
  2. In-class discussion of the writing process
  3. Peer evaluation groups
  4. In-class editing lab
  5. Individual work on writing plan

Requirements

  1. Complete Ramp-up work
  2. Produce a writing plan (with backup and accountability elements)
  3. Participate in class activities
  4. Engage in lab exercises
  5. Finalize abstract and plan with primary dissertation advisor
