Administrative Assistant for Online Learning Programs
Mindy joined the GFES staff in September 2011. She feels blessed by the opportunity to meet and work with seminary students from all over the country—and even a few students from other countries!—through her work with the on-line program.
In addition to her work at the seminary, Mindy serves part-time as the Coordinator of Candidacy for the Oregon Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). She is a consecrated Diaconal Minister with that denomination and has served previously as a campus minister and as a member of the national leadership team for her roster. She also savors her work as a spiritual director for individuals and groups; she finds joy in coming alongside others to pray with them, encourage them, and be attentive together to the presence of God and to the movement and surprises of the Holy Spirit.
Mindy holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and French (1992) and a Master of Arts in Teaching (1993) from Willamette University; a Master of Arts in Ministerial Studies from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg (2001); and a certificate in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship from George Fox Evangelical Seminary (2010).
Mindy loves to travel and has had the privilege of studying in France, as well as of visiting Scotland, Greece, and Turkey. Mindy’s favorite things include reading, writing letters and short stories, sharing long talks with friends, and ballroom dancing. Her current spiritual discipline is to expand her practice of Sabbath, learning to embrace Christ’s invitation to rest and play to the glory of God.
